Cassava bakery in full swing!

The GSF cassaverie (cassava bakery) that was recently brought into operation is already having a huge impact thanks to your continuing support. There has been a terrible rise in the price of wheat, so people are not buying bread from the bakers — our cassava is a life-saver, especially with the coupons we provide for the elderly and infirm!

We still have $1000 in hand for the next set of coupons in September, helping to make up for the end of the food parcel plan as we approach the one year anniversary of the southern Haiti earthquakes. People really are very grateful.

We even had a delegation from two other parts of the island of Ile A Vache, asking for us to build two more cassaveries. This isn’t possible , but Annouse, the GSF agronomist, has made a plan to help them transport their cassava to ours, increase our staff, and produce more! Thank you to all our donors who help make this kind of transformative change possible.
